中共党员，1993年获北京师范大学生物系理学学士学位，同年留校任教，2001年在北京师范大学生命科学学院获理学博士学位，方向为鸟类学。2005年3月-2006年3月在德国Mainz大学生物系Jochen Martens教授实验室从事鸟类鸣声研究。2002年任副教授，2010年任教授。

■主要从事濒危雉类和鸟类鸣声研究。在濒危雉类研究方面，对濒危雉类野外生态学、人工繁育、再引入、行为、保护遗传等方面开展了深入、系统的研究工作。在鸟类鸣声方面，在物种分化、利用鸣声识别个体和监测种群、地理变异、鸣唱行为和功能等方面开展了系列工作，带动了国内相关工作的开展。
■近5年主持完成或在研国家自然科学基金3项、环保部、自然资源部、国家林业和草原局项目5项，近5年作为通讯作者发表研究论文23篇，其中SCI论文14篇，参编专著3部。
